To best support our toddlers, the classroom is divided with younger toddlers on one side and older toddlers on the other. Each side offers developmentally appropriate activities including music, art, STEM, pre-literacy and dramatic play.
The Creative Curriculum is used to guide lesson planning and create a daily schedule. We also include personal and social skills in our curriculum including hand washing, eating with utensils, dressing and toilet training.
We continually observe our toddlers to note developmental milestones. The Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and Creative Curriculum help teachers assess a child’s progress and plan activities to help them reach goals.
Regular, consistent and reciprocal parent communication is our priority at LPLC! We use the Tadpoles Software Program to create daily reports for every child in our infant and toddler classrooms. The program allows teachers to:
Share photos and notes with parents
Record meals, activities, and naps
Prepare lesson plans
